

TRADE AND INDUSTRIAL CURRICULUM
NC Career and Technical Education (CTE) consultants work with teachers and content experts to produce curriculum materials or identify adopted materials for courses in the Standard Course of Study. Courses in the Standard Course of Study are validated by business and industry.
The curriculum components developed in North Carolina include the following:
- More than 100 course blueprints containing 21st century content developed by teachers and reviewed by business and industry
- Electronic classroom and secure test item banks and performance assessments aligned to essential standards for courses
- Curriculum guides developed or adopted for use containing instructional activities and instructional support materials

Standard Course of Study
The North Carolina Standard Course of Study Guide (pdf, 12.8mb) was approved by the state
Board of Education in 2002 and went into effect in 2004-2005. This document
provides detailed information about course offerings in North Carolina.

The Status of Curriculum Materials indicates the release date for each
of the curriculum components by course or provides links to sources of
curriculum
adopted from other sources.
